Time to renew !

New club cards are now available from Roger Higginson, same price as last year.

You will need your payment, completed membership/renewal form and a photo – plus proof of entitlement to any any concession. You can download the from the membership page (or use this link) or fill one in at Roger’s.

This year there is a new club water available, Goldstone Pool near the Wharf inn at Goldstone.

Fish Stocking

Arrangements are in hand to restock Preeswood Pool with Carp (in the 2.5 lb ‘cormorant resistant’ ! size range) and Ryley’s Pool with Carp and Chubb (mixed sizes)

Junior Coaching at Ryley’s Pool

The club will be running some Junior Coaching Days in 2013, dates below:

Sat 11 May: Sat 22 June : Sat 24 August

This is a good opportunity to introduce someone you know to fishing, and to a local club too. Coaching will be in the hands of a CRB checked and suitably trained leader!

Time : 10am till1pm

Ryley’s Pool will also be used as a ‘Get Hooked On Fishing’ event venue on Sat 20th April and Sat 20th July 2013.

Details of 3 Day Festival

This will be fished on the 7th, 8th and 9th June 2013, starting with Plews pool, then Riley’s pool and finally on the canal. Entry is £50, with £20 deposit required to book your place. Entries required by 26th May, and are limited to 45 anglers. First draw 13.30 at Hodnet Social Club.

Canal to be shared with SAAC

HAC have recently reached an agreement with Serck Audco Angling Club (SAAC) whereby their members can fish our stretch of the Shropshire Union Canal (Bridges 53 and 55 only) in return for an annual fee. This agreement takes effect from 1st January 2013, with the agreement lasting up to 5 years. SAAC members fishing The Canal are expected to abide by a relevant extract of the HAC Angling rules – see our Club Rules page for details, with SAAC able to organise their own matches [dates to be agreed with HAC in advance – and shortly to be added to website ‘Match’ page.

Welcome to our new Website

It’s been over 3 years since we launched HAC Online and now its time for a change. So, welcome to our new website. We’ve redesigned the entire look and feel, including our logo, color scheme and web layout; focusing on ease-of-use and an enhanced user experience. There is still some work to be done, and we will change/expand its content over the next few weeks and months. If you’ve any suggestions for what you’d like added, please let us know.
