2014 – Three Day Festival

Some advance dates for your diary.

This year’s 3 day fishing festival will be held on 13th, 14th and 15 th June.

Further details will be posted in due course, but in meantime if you’ve got any queries/wish to register advance interest speak to Terry Nutt.

Ready for the AGM?

Our AGM looms! – it’s starts at 8 pm on Thurs Feb 6th, and is held at Hodnet Social Club, Hodnet.

We are very keen to get some new blood onto the Cttee, or even some ‘rested old blood’! so please get in touch with a Cttee member if you think you could help in some way.

By way of reminder :

Last date for submitting [non Cttee sponsored] nominations to join the Committee – 2 weeks before AGM

Last date for submitting [non Cttee sponsored] resolutions to be debated at AGM – 2 weeks before AGM

Details of how to do either of above can be found in our Constitution on the rules page of the website, or speak to a Cttee member.

New Year’s Resolution ?

As the New Year dawns, why not consider helping Hodnet Angling Club to continue to provide the angling facilities that we all enjoy?

Perhaps you’d like to suggest and get involved in making some changes?

With the AGM coming up in February, we’d like to inform members that the current Club Committee are keen to attract some ‘new blood’ – or perhaps rested ‘old blood’!

The task isn’t that onerous, basically attending several evening meetings each year at which the running of the Club is organised. Of course you can also get more involved, and in that regard you may care to know that we would be particularly pleased to hear from members who might be willing/able to act, if not now later, as our Club Secretary or to help with the Website.

Please get in touch via the website e-mail facility or give one of the Committee Officers a call.

” If you happily leave it to others, others will happily leave it to you” Anon.

Happy New Year… and good fishing

Changed committee meeting dates

In case members wish to raise any issues with the Cttee, please note that all Cttee meetings between now and the 2014 AGM [whose date hasn’t changed] have been moved back one day to the Thursday following their originally scheduled Wednesday

Fished Preeswood Pool recently?

If not, here are 3 reasons to visit

1/ The water levels have returned to where they should be.

2/ It has been restocked

3/ The prison service team who have been cutting paths and clearing undergrowth at Ryley’s Pools are about to start work at Preeswood.

Enjoy!

Time to renew !

New club cards are now available from Roger Higginson, same price as last year.

You will need your payment, completed membership/renewal form and a photo – plus proof of entitlement to any any concession. You can download the from the membership page (or use this link) or fill one in at Roger’s.

To avoid disappointment/inconvenience, please telephone before visiting. Roger’s details can be found in the ‘Contact us’ page.

This year there is a new club water available, Goldstone Pool near the Wharf inn at Goldstone.

Fish Stocking

Arrangements are in hand to restock Preeswood Pool with Carp (in the 2.5 lb ‘cormorant resistant’ ! size range) and Ryley’s Pool with Carp and Chubb (mixed sizes)

Junior Coaching at Ryley’s Pool
