Via our bailiffs and some members we’ve had reports of ‘claimed’ members walking around some of our waters, or pre-baiting swims, not having a membership card with them when challenged. This creates an awkward situation for all parties, so please ensure you carry your membership card whenever you are visiting Club Waters. Thanks.

Some deft negotiations between our Secretary and the CRT (well done Terry) have resulted in the club being granted a new stretch of the Shropshire Union canal at Market Drayton.
Some special rules apply to this stretch, and details of these and the water can be found HERE.
Following the AGM, it can be confirmed that membership fees will be held at last year’s levels.
Membership/renewal forms can be obtained from the Membership Secretary or downloaded HERE
Some advance dates for your diary.
This year’s 3 day fishing festival will be held on 13th, 14th and 15 th June.
Further details will be posted in due course, but in meantime if you’ve got any queries/wish to register advance interest speak to Terry Nutt.
Our AGM looms! – it’s starts at 8 pm on Thurs Feb 6th, and is held at Hodnet Social Club, Hodnet.
We are very keen to get some new blood onto the Cttee, or even some ‘rested old blood’! so please get in touch with a Cttee member if you think you could help in some way.
By way of reminder :
Last date for submitting [non Cttee sponsored] nominations to join the Committee – 2 weeks before AGM
Last date for submitting [non Cttee sponsored] resolutions to be debated at AGM – 2 weeks before AGM
Details of how to do either of above can be found in our Constitution on the rules page of the website, or speak to a Cttee member.
As the New Year dawns, why not consider helping Hodnet Angling Club to continue to provide the angling facilities that we all enjoy?
Perhaps you’d like to suggest and get involved in making some changes?
With the AGM coming up in February, we’d like to inform members that the current Club Committee are keen to attract some ‘new blood’ – or perhaps rested ‘old blood’!
The task isn’t that onerous, basically attending several evening meetings each year at which the running of the Club is organised. Of course you can also get more involved, and in that regard you may care to know that we would be particularly pleased to hear from members who might be willing/able to act, if not now later, as our Club Secretary or to help with the Website.
Please get in touch via the website e-mail facility or give one of the Committee Officers a call.
” If you happily leave it to others, others will happily leave it to you” Anon.
Happy New Year… and good fishing
In case members wish to raise any issues with the Cttee, please note that all Cttee meetings between now and the 2014 AGM [whose date hasn’t changed] have been moved back one day to the Thursday following their originally scheduled Wednesday
