At this time of year when fish can be stressed (due to hot weather/low water oxygen levels) it is appropriate to remind members about one of our key rules for ensuring fish health: dip your nets (and mats) before and after fishing at all club waters where disinfectant dip tanks are provided.

This reminder is also prompted by reports we have received of KHV (Koi Herpes Virus) outbreaks at nearby waters.

Thoroughly drying wet nets/mats in sunshine is a further simple precaution against unwittingly spreading this nasty disease from one water to another.

Don’t forget to also report dead or distressed fish spotted in our waters to a member of the committee.
