This year marks our 50th year as a club. This is some achievement, and to mark the occasion we have arranged a subsidised Social/Fishing day. This is of course subject to any (new) Government Covid related restrictions, but we hope it will proceed as planned.
This day is being organised by Bob Yeomans and will take place on Tues June 15th 2021 at Heronbrook Fisheries, where we have booked the exclusive use of their Match Lake.
This pool contains a large head of fish including lots of double figure carp, F1s, Bream, Silvers, etc. There are very few rules or bait bans (see website http://www.heronbrookfisheries.co.uk/ ) so the venue provides something for everyone. It has plenty of parking, some close to many of the pegs – so avoiding long walks for those less able, or those encumbered with too much stuff!
The cost will be £20, which will include full English B-Fast, a Day Ticket and Pie and Chips plus Trophy’s afterwards. Anticipated start and end times are (provisionally) 0830 B/fast, 0930 match draw, 1100 – 1600 fishing – followed by the weigh in and then concluding with pie and chips around 1700.
All members are very welcome to attend – and we hope many of you will. Although a match will take place on the day (£10 pool entry fee) this is optional, so members are just as welcome to attend for a day’s general fishing/the social side of things. The main aim is to have a fun day out and the opportunity to perhaps catch more fish than may be usual. A range of prizes/trophies are anticipated – and not just for winning the match.
Heronbrook is one of the top commercial fisheries in the country. It is approximately a 25min drive from Mkt Drayton.
